West End Ave. garage fire damages one vehicle

GAINESVILLE - Gainesville fire fighters were summoned to the 400 block of West End Avenue for a fire inside of a garage at an auto repair business Thursday afternoon.

Fire Chief Keith Smith said the call came in around 5:15 p.m.

Smith said that the blaze was quickly under control but that there appeared to be he extensive damage to a vehicle inside of the garage.

Traffic on West End was stopped for a brief time as firefighters positioned equipment.

Smith said the cause of the fire is under investigation.
