Tennis: Lady Trojans rout Adairsville, roll into second round,

GAINESVILLE -- The North Hall girls tennis team advanced to the second round of the Class AAA playoffs after taking a 5-0 win over Adairsville Thursday.

The tam match was highlighted by a three-hour marathon at No. 2 singles won by the Lady Trojans' Courtney Barnes, who outlasted Kylee McCauley 3-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-1) in three sets.

Natalie Oxley at No. 1 and Tricia Dial at No. 3 singles both won in straight sets.

Hannah Gibson and Kaitlyn Smith won 6-0, 6-3 at No. 1 doubles and
McKay Higginbotham and Karleigh Dills won at No. 2 doubles with Higginbotham closing out the match with an ace.

North Hall next will face perennial power St. Pius on the road in the second round on Monday.
