KENNESAW - Police in Atlanta's northwestern suburbs are investigating the killing of a man found in a road with a gunshot wound.
Cobb County police say officers were sent to an area along George Busby Parkway in Kennesaw in response to a 911 call around 12:20 a.m. Saturday.
They found 23-year-old Zakeem Berry of Kennesaw in the roadway with an apparent gunshot wound. He was taken to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital, where he died.
Police say they later found a suspect in the case at a Kroger store in Acworth, where he had an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. He was taken to by ambulance to Wellstar Kennestone, where he was being treated for the injury on Saturday.
Cobb County police are asking anyone with information about the slaying to contact them.
