Flowery Branch homeowner interrupts burglary

By Alyson Shields Reporter
FLOWERY BRANCH - A Flowery Branch homeowner walked in on a burglary in progress this afternoon, but the homeowner chose not to be a victim.

According to Hall County Sheriff's Deputy Nicole Bailes, the Germantown Road homeowner came home around 2:30 p.m. and interrupted the burglar.

"The homeowner did confront the assailant with a firearm and detained her with that firearm until deputies could arrive," said Bailes.

The assailant was a female and has been taken into custody. "She's being questioned by our investigators, so there could be additional charges pending the outcome of that interview," said Bailes.

Bailes said they were not releasing the identity of the suspect at this time, or any other details, as the Hall County Criminal Investigations Division is still investigating.
