With Spring Break upon us, prep baseball will take front-and-center this week as the other prep sports take a week off before heading into the playoffs (tennis), and wrapping up the final weeks of their regular season.

Region 7-AAA will see several big home-and-home series begin on Monday. East Hall, fresh off a stunning sweep of Dawson County last week, will travel to North Hall as the Vikings try to make a late run for a playoff berth. The Trojans are trying to maintain a slim hold on second place.

Dawson County heads to Buford trying to get back in the race while the No. 1-ranked Wolves try to lock up the region title as they hold a three-game lead over North Hall. White County plays at West Hall looking to snap a four-game losing streak. The two teams are tied for third place.

In Region 8-AAAAA, Gainesville travels to Loganville. The Red Elephants fell two games back of first place after a loss to the Red Devils on Friday. Flowery Branch will play host to improved Heritage, Conyers. The Falcons are in duel with Gainesville for second place in 8-AAAAA.

On Tuesday, Commerce will play host to George Walton Academy as the Tigers try to stay in the playoff race. They currently sit sixth in the Region 8-A standings. In Region 8-AA, Jefferson plays host to Union County as the Dragons try to keep their unbeaten region record in tact.

On Wednesday, Flowery Branch will play host to Apalachee and Gainesville will play host to Clarke Central in the first of two-games series'. In Region 8-AAAA, Lumpkin County opens a series with Madison County. The Indians are locked a three-way battle for the final two playoff spots with eastside and Lanier.
