BUFORD - Just after 6 a.m. Thursday, a fisherman spotted a boat burning on Lake Lanier near the Shoal Creek campground area.

Hall County Fire Services responded to the scene and searched the area. Authorities said the 20-foot cabin cruiser burned to the water line and there is a large area of debris in the cove. Authorities said there was no sign of any boat operator at the site.
