Piedmont 'Cantabile' to sing April 1 in Demorest

DEMOREST - The Piedmont College a cappella group, Cantabile, will present a program of "All American" music in a free performance at 5 p.m., Tuesday, April 1, at the campus in Demorest.<br /> <br /> The concert will be held in Brooks Hall in the Center for Worship and Music, located at 992 Central Avenue in Demorest.<br /> <br /> Cantabile director Dr. Wallace Hinson said the group of 10 singers will perform works from the 19th and 20th centuries, including jazz, pop songs from the '70s and '80s, along with traditional spirituals. Composers include Stephen Foster, Rodgers and Hammerstein, Randy Newman, James Taylor and Billy Joel.<br /> <br /> The Cantabile singers include Megan Holder, Cole Martin, Ben Rikeman, Mitchell Auger, Elizabeth Parmer, Wally Hinson, Chris Sudderth, Chastin Dobbs, Jennifer Pitt, nd Kate Berardi.
