ATHENS, Ga. (AP) Athens-Clarke County police say a man accused of beating a teenage boy who took a shower with his stepdaughter is facing several charges.
Police say 49-year-old Clinton Antonio Ward told investigators he came home, heard his 16-year-old stepdaughter in the shower and also heard a male voice coming from the bathroom.

Authorities say Ward was sitting on his couch when she and her naked 16-year-old boyfriend emerged from the restroom. Police say he pushed the teen into a wall and punched him in his face and chest before telling him to leave.
The Athens Banner-Herald reports Ward is charged with battery, cruelty to children and assault.
Ward declined to comment on the case Thursday evening, but said he has retained an attorney.
