Tennis: Chestatee boys drop Knights, 4-1

The Chestatee boys tennis team defeated Johnson 4-1 on Thursday in Oakwood to improve to 7-4 on the season and 4-4 in Region 8-AAAA play.

Tyler Burgess won 6-2, 7-5 at No. 1 singles over Johnson's Caleb Herrin. The War Eagles' Reed Johnson defeated Jalen Granski 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles, and Hasten Haynes defeated the Knights' David Le 6-2, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. Chestatee's No. 2 doubles team of Logan Gruenenfelder and Ethan Kapiloff won 7-5, 6-2 over the Knights' Josh Butler and James Butcher.

Johnson avoided the sweep at No. 1 doubles when Man Chung and Erik Dinkel defeated Chestatee's Austin Passmore and Barron King, 6-4, 3-6, 6-4.

Chestatee visits North Hall on Monday.
