Luis Deltoro, a senior forward from Johnson High School has been named the NSCAA/ High School Player of the Week.

Deltoro has had a huge impact on Johnson's quick-fire 11-0 start to the season, scoring 11 goals and adding six assists over the first eight games of the season. Deltoro guided 10-2 and 8-0 blowout wins to kick off Region 8-AAAA play, scoring two hat tricks and tallying four assists.

He also scored three goals on Tuesday, as top-ranked Johnson defeated Winder-Barrow 4-1 on the road in a non-region game.

The Knights will play host to fifth-ranked Chestatee in an 8-AAAA showdown on Friday in Oakwood.

Other boys finalists included Will Keegan (Pensacola Catholic High School, Pensacola, Fla.) and Ian Roberts (First Colonial High School, Virginia Beach, Va.). Other girls finalists include Hannah Sink (Glenn High School, Kernersville, N.C.) and Daria Zarzeka (Randolph High School, Huntsville, Ala.).

The NSCAA/ High School Player of the Week honor is designed to highlight a selection of the nation's rising stars populating the high school ranks. Coaches are free to nominate a boys or girls player each week through our submission form that can be found here. Be sure to include the school and any relevant stats from the previous week. The selection process will take into account a slew of factors from contribution to team results to individual accolades. Honorees are announced each Wednesday.
