Gwinnett student hit by vehicle, seriously hurt

By Staff
LILBURN - Gwinnett County Police said a 16-year-old Parkview High School student was seriously injured when he was hit by a vehicle early Tuesday morning.

The incident occurred around 7 a.m. when Jonathan Porter tried to cross Five Forks Trickum Road near Arlene Court. Porter was hit by a 1998 Buick Century. Officers said there is no crosswalk in that location.

Porter was transported from the scene by ambulance. He was reported to be in serious condition.

Investigators believe the teen was walking to school at the time of the incident.

The preliminary investigation showed that there were no signs of excessive speed, alcohol or drugs on the part of the driver. The driver stopped at the scene. No charges have been filed at this time.
