Dr. Sheperd will focus on water issues and the correlations to climate change, while offering ideas on
sustainable ways individuals and businesses can help conserve Georgia's environment.
3. Dr. William (Bill) Coates, Jr. - "Theological View of Stewardship"
Dr. Coates' style is thought-provoking, memorable and often life-changing, but sprinkled with humor and wit.
4. Dr. James W. Porter- "The Effects of Sea-Level Rise on Georgia"
Dr. Porter will present the latest long-term projection for sea-level rise, which is due to glacial melt and the
thermal expansion of the oceans. He will focus his brief talk on these projections and their effect on coastal
Georgia. This information will be used to highlight the need for evidenced-based decision-making in setting
environmental policy for our state.
