WINDER -- The Gainesville girls tennis dropped just four games in taking a 5-0 sweep over Apalachee Thursday in Region 8-AAAAA play.
At No. 1 singles, Brinkley Frankum defeated Sam Linattek 6-3, 6-0 and Katherine Wright defeated Sara Cowan 6-0, 6-1 at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Haley Frankum defeated Jessica Leiter 6-0, 6-0.
In the doubles action, Morgan Mercer and Georgia Summer defeated Maddie Gordon and Katie Jackson 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 and Sally Callahan and Suzanne Smith defeated Leah Dewitt and Becca Greene 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2.
the Gainesville girls next will m will travel to LaGrange to play in the two-day Granger Invitational tournament.
