Mizuno USA chooses Braselton for huge new facility

BRASELTON - Mizuno USA announced plans on Wednesday to move their manufacturing and distribution operations to a new 520,000 square-foot facility in Braselton during 2015.

The parent company, Mizuno, was founded in Japan in 1906. Mizuno USA specializes in top end golf, softball, baseball, running, track and field and volleyball equipment, apparel, and footwear.

Their announcement appears on the company's website.

According to that announcement Mizuno has operated out of Norcross since 1982, but with growing business needs the facility space options and location led Mizuno to select Barrow County.

"It is a pleasure to welcome Mizuno USA to Barrow County," said Pat Graham, Barrow County Commission Chairman. "We appreciate their investment and also the job opportunities they bring to Barrow County."

The distribution center will have 150 full time positions and bring seasonal work opportunities starting in 2015.

Mizuno USA will maintain their corporate offices in Norcross.
