Multiple attempted assaults reported near Emory

DECATUR, Ga. (AP) DeKalb County and Emory University police are working together to investigate a series of attempted sexual assaults near the school's campus.

Officials say three attempted sex assault between December and January have been reported and may be connected to a rape on Emory's campus on Feb. 11.

Police say the victims were young women who were walking alone off campus. Investigators say the women were able to fight off the attacker and call police. No injuries have been reported.

Authorities are asking people to walk in groups especially at night, avoid isolated and dark areas, avoid distractions like texting or talking on the phone while walking and remove headphones while walking.
