Atlanta police say homeless man stabbed

By The Associated Press
ATLANTA (AP) Atlanta police say a homeless man was stabbed by another man who was handing out food.

CBS Atlanta reports that the homeless man was hospitalized after the stabbing around 1:30 a.m. Monday in downtown Atlanta.

Police say a man from a local church had just handed out food when a homeless man became angry. Police say an argument broke out and the homeless man tried to take the other man's cell phone. That's when the other man pulled out a knife and stabbed the homeless man.

Police say the man with the knife was acting in self-defense.
