WINDER - Barrow County fire fighters were on the scene early this morning at a warehouse fire on Bankhead Highway.
Lieutenant Scott Dakin with the Barrow County Fire Department says when the crews arrived at 5:45 a.m., they discovered the business that owned the warehouse already had a fire crew on the scene.
"We worked with their fire brigade and their crews to remove the product and extinguish it as we went along," said Dakin. "Crews were out there for more than five hours... just because it was a slow process of removing the product and extinguishing it as we went along."
Products in the warehouse had caught fire, according to Dakin. "The cause of the fire was the manufacturing of the product requires a heat source and some of the smoldering stayed in the product after it was completed."
Dakin said the name of the business and the specific product were not going to be released at this time.
