GAINESVILLE -- Bob Christmas may only have joined North Hall 13 years ago, but it seems as though the football coach was born a Trojan.

That's how much he has meant to the football program at North Hall and how much he and the Trojan community have bonded.

It's also why his decision to leave was perhaps the hardest he's ever made.

Christmas led the turnaround of a program that was mining the depths before his arrival and rarely soared -- until his staff began to shape things at North Hall.

It was by no means a coincidence, and Christmas had a blueprint from previous jobs that he knew would work. But the successes of the past 13 years were pretty special indeed.

The coach will be missed at The Brickyard, and after he announced he was leaving the Trojans for a former team in Virginia, Christmas took time to sit down and get his thoughts and reminiscences on camera. Today, we present you a slice of that interview.

Coach Christmas helped lead the ascension of football in northeast Georgia, and North Hall has been one of the programs near the forefront of this area's charge toward state supremacy. His work in making what was once an afterthought a perennial power will not be forgotten.
