Boys basketball: Indians pull away from Lions

GAINESVILLE -- The Lumpkin County boys basketball team scored 26 fourth quarter points to help defeat Lakeview Academy 70-66 on Saturday in Gainesville.

The Indians led 19-7 after the first quarter only for the Lions to knot the score at 29-29 at the half.

Kirk Schneider scored 10 points to pace Lakeview (10-10).

Jonathan Gilreath, meanwhile, put up 24 points for Lumpkin County, while Daniel McCrary added 16 and Evan Bafile 11.

Lakeview travels to Pinecrest Academy on Tuesday.

Lumpkin County, meanwhile, will play host to Madison County on Tuesday.
