Girls basketball: Chestatee edges past Gilmer in 2 OT

ELLIJAY -- The Chestatee girls basketball team outscored Gilmer 19-18 over two overtime periods to edge ahead for a 61-60 win on Saturday in Ellijay.

The Lady War Eagles (18-3) built a 38-33 lead through three quarters but couldn't hold on for the win in regulation, as Gilmer tied it at 42-42 after four quarters.

Bridgette Kelly scored 35 points to pace Chestatee, while Deanna Bradberry chipped in with 14 points and Tyler Bennett scored 12 points.

Chestatee travels to face Stephens County on Tuesday.
