Putney named volunteer of Year by Hall Co. Green Alliance

OAKWOOD - Bonny Putney was named Volunteer of the Year Friday by the Hall County Green Alliance (HCGA).

Margaret Rasmussen received the Trailblazer Award.

Other award winners:

Project Initiative of the Year - Lake Lanier Association's Shore Sweep

Partner of the Year - Clean Air Campaign

Green "Foote" award - Rick Foote

Education Program - East Hall Middle School Wiki Green Club

Private Sector Award - Robert Eidson

Public Sector Award - George Wangemann

The Hall County Green Alliance was formed last year. According to its Facebook page, its mission is to "Engage community, Inspire environmental action, Create a greener footprint and a healthier economy. Casting a vision where Hall County GA will be a place where - Actively caring for the environment is second nature.
Citizens, businesses and governments unite to put their passion into action."

The awards ceremony was held at Oakwood City Hall.
