Jefferson man killed in Thursday car crash

By Staff
JEFFERSON - Authorities said no charges will be filed in a crash that killed a Jefferson man Thursday afternoon.

Troopers from the Georgia State Patrol Post in Athens responded to the two-vehicle accident on GA 15 ALT around 5:20 p.m. They said the driver of a 1995 Toyota T100 pickup truck, Jerry Adams, was traveling southbound when he crossed the center line of the highway and hit the left front side of a 2006 Chrysler Pacifica.

They said the 70-year-old Adams died at the scene.

The driver of the Chrysler vehicle, Jasmene Herring, 33, of Jefferson, complained of injury and was transported to Athens Regional Medical Center, according to investigating troopers.
