Smoke scare closes section of Atlanta Rd. during rush hour

GAINESVILLE - A section of Atlanta Road in Gainesville was closed for a time during Tuesdasy afternoon rush hour because of a smoke scare.

Gainesville Fire Dept. spokesman Keith Smith said units sent to a business near the Pearl Nix Parkway intersection were responding to a report of a "smell of smoke."

Capt. Smith said the investigation found the cause of the smoke to be a faulty furnace.
