U.S. Senate candidates to debate in Gainesville

GAINESVILLE - The debate in Adel Saturday night involving GOP candidates for the U.S. Senate seat being vacated by Saxby Chambliss was the first of several planned between now and the May 20 primaries.

One of them will be held in Gainesville on Feb. 22.

State Republican Party officials say seven debates are planned, including the one that was held in Adel. The lineup for the remainder of them is as follows:

February 1 - Kennesaw

February 22 - Gainesville

March 8 - Macon

March 29 - Savannah

April 19 - Augusta

May 10 - Columbus

All debates are on Saturday and will begin at 6:00. Party officials say additional details will be released as they become available.
