Boys basketball: Dawson County wins defensive affair in Fannin County

BLUE RIDGE -- The Dawson County boys basketball team pulled away from a defensive battle for a 41-32 win over Fannin County on Friday in Blue Ridge.

The Tigers (15-4, 6-2 Region 7-AAA) led 6-2 after the first quarter and 15-5 at the half.

Levi Whitmire scored 10 points to lead Dawson County, while Lucas Pain and Cameron Millholland both had nine points.

Will Holloway scored 11 for Fannin County.

Dawson County will play host to White County in a key Region 7-AAA battle on Tuesday.
