Gainesville man arrested on drug charges

GAINESVILLE - Local drug agents report the arrest of a 52-year-old Gainesville man on several meth-related charges.<br /> <br /> Dennis Ray Cheek is charged with:<br /> <br /> *Trafficking Methamphetamine<br /> *Possession of Methamphetamine with the Intent to Distribute<br /> *Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon<br /> <br /> Agents from the Hall County Multi-Agency Narcots Squad say they arrested Cheek on S. Enota Dr. in Gainesville Thursday during an undercover investigation. Lt. Scott Ware says Cheek delivered about an ounce to agents at that location. Ware says another ounce of meth and a pistol were seized during a subsequent search of a house on Gillsville Highway.<br /> <br /> He said the drugs had a "cumulative" street value of $5,600.
