Vigil scheduled tonight for men found dead in Lake Lanier

By Staff
DAWSONVILLE - A candlelight vigil is being held Sunday afternoon for the two young men whose bodies were pulled from the waters of Lake Lanier this past Friday.

Several Atlanta media outlets are reporting that the vigil to remember Mason Cox and David Wood will take place at North Georgia Church on Dill Lane just off Georgia 400 in Dawson County. The vigil begins at 5:30 p.m.

Cox and Wood, both age 20, went missing early the morning of January 2, when their families said the two went fishing together. Authorities searched for more than a week before finding the friends' bodies in the lake.

The GBI will conduct autopsies on the bodies of both men Monday to determine an exact cause of death.
