CLEVELAND -- If you want to get the better of the Buford girls, you better not let them get off to starts like they did on Saturday in Cleveland.
The Lady Wolves blitzed the home-standing White County 28-9 in the first quarter en route to a 74-49 victory.
Buford's finish was pretty strong too.
After watching the Lady Warriors outscore them 34-32 in the second and third quarters, the Lady Wolves (11-1, 4-0 Region 7-AAA) quashed any notions of a letdown by holding White County to six points over the final eight minutes.
Camille Anderson helped lead Buford's charge, scoring a game-high 20 points in the win, while Bree Horrocks added 14. Corey Staples also chipped in with 10 points.
Kaitlin Wilson put up 11 points and 10 assists to pace the Lady Warriors (9-3, 2-2), while Paige Thomas and Abbey Craven each scored 12.
White County will look to bounce back in a key 7-AAA showdown at Banks County on Tuesday.
Buford, meanwhile, also hosts a crucial 7-AAA battle when it plays host to Dawson County on Tuesday.
