Soldier found dead was S. Forsyth High grad

ATLANTA - A missing Army veteran, who graduated from South Forsyth High School, has been found dead in the wreckage of his car.

The Atlanta Journal Constitution reported that Randal Andrew Ackerman was seen leaving a Buckhead bar around 2 a.m. Tuesday. His wrecked car - with his body inside - was discovered Thursday night just off Johnson Ferry Road. The Georgia State Patrol is investigating the crash.

The 31-year-old Ackerman was living in Sandy Springs and had been honorably discharged from the service after serving a tour in Afghanistan.
