RABBITTOWN -- Buford softball used the long ball with devastating results against East Hall on Thursday, cruising to a 10-0, five-inning victory in Rabbittown.
The Lady Wolves (22-1, 11-0 Region 7-AAA) crushed three homers during the contest, including blasts for Remington Hasty, Drew Puckett and Morgan Walters.
One home run would have been enough for Buford pitcher Bria Bush (7-1), who struck out nine batters without giving up a walk. Only a fourth inning double to left field by East Hall shortstop Kali Turner prevented Bush from pitching a perfect game. It was the junior hurler's sixth complete game and third shutout of the year.
Hasty finished the game 2-for-3 with a three-run home run, a double, three RBI and two runs scored, while Puckett went 2-for-2 with a two-run homer, a double, two RBI and two runs scored. Walters also added a two-run home run and a run scored. Niki Cook also went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored.
Buford will travel to Fannin County on Monday for a 5:55 p.m. start.
