Students escape injury when tractor collides with bus

By Rob Moore Reporter
LAVONIA - Twenty Franklin County students escaped injury when their bus was struck in the rear by a John Deere tractor Thursday afternoon.

Trooper 1st Class Tim Brock of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa said the wreck happened at 4:06 p.m. on Georgia Highway 17 at Twin Creek Road south of Lavonia.

Brock said the Franklin County school bus had stopped to offload students when the small farm tractor was unable to stop and struck the bus in the rear.

No citations were issued, and there were no injuries in the wreck, Brock said.
