Child dies, at least four others injured in Winder area fire

WINDER - A pre-dawn fire in Barrow County Wednesday morning claimed the life of an 18-month-old baby and hurt at least four other people.

According to Channel 2 News, four people escaped the blaze by jumping from the second story of the Barrow County home.

The TV station reported that a 50-year-old man, 22-year-old woman and a 16-year-old were flown to Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta. A fourth victim, another adult, was taken to a local hospital and has since been released.

Firefighters said the blaze broke out around 2:15 a.m. at Rockwell Church and Moon Bridge roads in Barrow County.

There's no word yet on the cause.
