Volleyball: Johnson splits 8-AAAA doubleheader

The Johnson volleyball team took out Madison County 2-1 and fell to Walnut Grove 0-2 on Tuesday.

The Lady Knights (8-16, 3-2 Area 8-AAAA) bounced back from a 25-20 setback in the opening set to sweep the next two sets 25-20, 25-16 in the win over Madison.

Brooke Balenger helped pace Johnson with three aces and four kills, while Kelly Chance added four assists, three aces and seven digs.

Johnson fell 25-11, 25-13 to Walnut Grove. Katie Williams had a block and a kill in the loss, while Chance had six digs.

Johnson will play again Thursday at Lakeview.
