Volleyball: No. 9 East Hall takes three wins at play date

RABBITTOWN -- The Class AAA ninth-ranked East Hall girls volleyball team won three of four matches Saturday at a play date at the East Hall gym.

The Lady Vikings defeated Athens Christian in three sets 17-25, 25-21, 15-4, Winder Barrow in two sets 25-22, 25-16, lost to Johnson in three sets 15-25, 25-17, 14-16, and completed the day beating Prince Avenue Christian in three sets 27-25, 24-26, 16-14 to take their overall season record to 20-11.

Tarryn Long had 57 kills and 18 digs and Kara Hix had 11 kills and 72 digs for East Hall. Ashleigh Burnett scored 35 points on serve with 27 digs, Jessica Chmiel had three assists and nine digs, Emily Roberts had 10 kills and six digs, and Allyson Segars had five kills and 12 digs.

Savannah Lindsey had 20 digs and Cassida Shockley had 27 points on serve with seven aces, five kills, eight digs and 65 assists.

The Lady Vikings next will on Tuesday at Decatur in Area 5-AAA action against Decatur and Blessed Trinity.
