ATLANTA -- Jacob Huesman rushed for two touchdowns and threw for two more to spark Chattanooga to a 42-14 victory over Georgia State Saturday.<br />
Huesman was 9 for 13 for 84 yards passing, and 84 yards rushing as the Mocs built a 35-0 lead by the third quarter.<br />
The Mocs 401 yards and four touchdowns rushing overwhelmed Georgia State, which netted just 30 yards on the ground. Keon Williams led Chattanooga's rushing with 147 yards.<br />
Ben McLane came off the bench for Georgia State (0-2) and threw two consecutive fourth-quarter touchdown passes in an attempt to climb back from a 42-point deficit. McLane was 7 for 12 for 164 yards. Both touchdown passes were caught by Albert Wilson, who finished the game with seven catches and 132 yards receiving.<br />
Georgia State threw for 273 yards while Chattanooga passed for 108 yards.
The Flowery Branch girls basketball team may not have got the opening it wanted on Wednesday in the Region 8-AAAAA quarterfinals -- but the Lady Falcons more than made up for that in the second quarter.
The Piedmont College women's basketball team extended its longest winning streak since the 2010-11 team won 12 in a row to start the year earning a national ranking as the Lady Lions defeated Covenant College 78-44 Wednesday evening in the Cave.
