Twenty arrested at Jackson County party

JEFFERSON - Jackson County authorities rounded up 20 people at a party Friday night, charging most of them with underage alcohol possession.

Jackson County Sheriff Janis Mangum said her office received an anonymous call Friday night advising that there were underage drinkers at a party at an address on Waterworks Road in the Jefferson area. She said when deputies arrived, they found a group of people in an open field.

Mangum said most were arrested without incident, but one juvenile attempted to leave the scene and hit a patrol car. She said one of her deputies was almost hit, as well.

That juvenile was taken to the Regional Youth Detention Center (RYDC) and charged with Aggravated Assault, Fleeing attempting to Elude, Damage to Government Property and Obstruction.

After testing all of the persons detained at the scene, 18 adults and one juvenile were charged with Underage Possession of Alcohol, according to Mangum. The juvenile was turned over to a guardian.

Those arrested were identified as Kyle Fraser-Wright Kashuba, 18, Samantha Jo Crawford, 17, Kacy Breanna Morgan, 17, Samantha Jo Sutherland, 19, Olivia Paige Jones, 18, and Austin William Pankevich, 18 - all of Jefferson; Joseph Tyler Black, 18, Cody Michael Streetman, 19, Jeremy Deshard Varnum, 18, Jonathan William Alexander, 18, Melanie Marie Breedlove, 19 and Rikki Hannah Smith, 18 - all of Commerce; Hannah Olivia Smith, 19, of Athens; Courtney Lyn Hubbard, 18, of Bogart; Sidney Marie Shipman, 17, of Danielsville; Hannah Elizabeth Seagriff, 18, of Lawrenceville; Olivia Blake Brasher, 18, of Gainesville; and Kendall Elizabeth Jonseof, 18, of Birmingham, Al.
