Fire does heavy damage to Buford home

By B.J. Williams News Director
BUFORD - An overnight fire did heavy damage to a house on Old Oaks Road in Buford.

Gwinnett County fire officials say they got the call to the house at 3:36 a.m. When crews arrived, they found the garage and front portion of the two-story house in flames.

At this point, it appears the fire started in a vehicle inside the garage. The vehicle was destroyed. Investigators said the entire home suffered smoke damage.

Everyone inside the house was able to escape safely, and there were no injuries.

Fire investigators said they will be searching for an exact cause.
