CORNELIA - A Baldwin man was charged with driving under the influence of drugs and failure to maintain lane after his truck crossed the centerline and struck another vehicle head-on Sunday afternoon.
Trooper 1st Class Casey Coffee of Georgia State Patrol Post 7 in Toccoa said Wednesday that Joseph Edenfield of Baldwin was charged after his 1994 Ford Ranger collided head-on with a Toyota Land Cruiser driven by Linda Landers of Cornelia near Ridgeway Circle at 12:51 p.m. Sunday.
Edenfield, who was not wearing a seatbelt, struck his head on the windshield, Coffee said. He was taken by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center.
Landers, who was wearing a seatbelt, suffered minor injuries and was taken by ambulance to Habersham Medical Center, Coffee said.
Both vehicles sustained heavy front-end damage.
