Forsyth Co. woman found dead at the scene of Sunday car crash

By B.J. Williams News Director
CUMMING - Authorities said it appeared a woman from Cumming suffered a medical emergency and died before crashing her vehicle into a fence on Drew Road near West Forsyth High School.

Forsyth County Sheriff's Deputy Doug Rainwater said the crash happened just before 8 a.m. Sunday.

"An off-duty police officer was coming home from work and saw the car up against the fence," said Rainwater. "CPR was administered there at the scene."

Rainwater said Gloria M. Lawrence, 62, of Rodalite Drive was taken to Northside Forsyth Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Rainwater said while the investigation is ongoing, it appears the victim died from the medical issue she experienced and not from the crash itself.
