Deal, Gailey still in running for country music honors

Gainesville native Katie Deal and Gina Gailey of Cleveland are still in the running for a state country music award with the online voting continuing for about another month.

Deal and Gailey are among the finalists for the 2013 Georgia Country Awards "Female Artist of the Year " award. The awards honor the best in country music in the state based on online voting which ends August 31. Deal and Gailey were among 32 original contenders for "Female Artist of the Year." (See earlier story. First link below.). The field has now been narrowed to twelve.

In addition, Coal Mountain Band of Dahlonega is one of a dozen finalists for "Duo, Group or Band of the Year."
