GAINESVILLE - As a thunderstorm moved through Hall County late Wednesday afternoon, over 1000 customers were without electricity at one point.

The largest impact area included Georgia Power customers on either side of Thompson Bridge Road, centered in the Mountain View Drive area.

About 130 Georgia Power customers were impacted by a separate outage in north and south of Thompson Mill Road.

Hall County dispatchers also reported trees down on Mountain View Drive and Ledan Road, both close to Thompson Bridge Road.

At the outage height, Jackson EMC had about 670 customers without electricity in Hall County. The biggest chunk of those were in the Dawsonville Highway corridor near the county line.

The county was under a significant weather advisory until 5:30 p.m.

Power company officials continued to work the outages into the evening hours.
