CLEVELAND - A 57-year-old Cleveland man was injured late Saturday night when he, according to the White County Sheriff's Office, accidently shot himself in the hand.

The incident occurred around 11 p.m. Saturday on Moosewood Drive south of Cleveland.

Capt. Tim Chapman said when the officer arrived on scene he observed a large amount of blood on the front porch of the residence.

Inside the residence, the officer talked with a male who said he accidently shot himself in the left hand. Chapman said the man was shot with a .38-caliber revolver.

The man was transported to the hospital for treatment of injuries. No further details were released about the incident.
