Alpharetta police find grow house with $1 million in pot inside

By Staff
ALPHARETTA - Police in Alpharetta said they found almost $1 million in marijuana inside a grow house off Waters Road.

Atlanta media outlets are reporting that police initially went to the house to respond to reports of an open garage door. When they arrived, officers began to check the scene to make sure no one had broken into the house. That's when they found the grow operation inside.

Authorities reported they gathered more than 250 marijuana plants from the house, a seizure of more than 188 pounds. Estimated street value for the marijuana was $850,000, according to investigators.

No arrests had been made at last report, although investigators said they had identified a person of interest in the case.
