ROCKY FACE -- Gainesville's Grant Lasseter shot his way into the top 10 on Tuesday's second day of play in the Georgia State Golf Association's Junior Championship.

Lasseter carded a 3-over 75 to bring his two-day total to 148 -- a 4-over score that put him into a tie for ninth place in the three-day tournament at The Farm in Rocky Face. Dunwoody's Marcus Byrd and Waynesboro's Carter Mobley lead the tournament, tied at 3-under.

Lasseter's play led a group of seven area prep golfers to make the cut after two days play, including four other Gainesville High golfers.

Spencer Ralston also fired a 74 on Tuesday, moving to 7-over for the week, while Jackson Bishop is 10-over. Meanwhile, fellow Red Elephants Nathan Williams (14-over) and Lawson King (17-over) will also play on Wednesday. White County's Garrett Rowland is also at 17-over, while North Hall's Hunter Young is 18-over.

Play will continue on Wednesday in Rocky Face.
