Boat fire on Lanier injures three

By Martin Dotson
UNDATED -- Three people suffered minor injuries after their boat caught fire on Lake Lanier Sunday afternoon.

According to Gwinnett County Fire Lt. Colin Rhoden, crews were called out to Buford Dam Park just before 2pm after getting a call about an explosion on an older wooden boat.

Two adults and one minor were able to escape the vessel, and were later treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The boat was towed to shore and the cause of the fire is being investigated.
