GSP releases name of ATV collision victim

DAWSONVILLE - A 73 year old south Georgia man has been identified as the victim of an ATV accident in Dawson County Tuesday afternoon.

Hoyle Edwin Jett of Guyton died at a hospital after his four-wheeler was struck by a pickup truck on Highway 53 near Perimeter Road shortly after 12:00 p.m.

Jett was crossing 53 from Acorn Road, following another person on a four-wheeler. According to the Georgia State Patrol, Jett failed to yield right of way and was hit by the oncoming pickup on the westbound side of 53.

The pickup driver, 52 year old Timothy Jerome Byess of Canton, was charged with having no insurance, according to the state patrol.
