With five teams ranked in the Top 25 and one receiving votes, the Southern States Athletic Conference women's tennis championships could be a battle to the end.
Three SSAC teams have held the No. 1 rank in the NAIA weekly top 25 polls in 2013 including Brenau University, Auburn-Montgomery, and William Carey. The championship tournament takes place April 18-21 in Montgomery, Ala.
Brenau (11-3) enters the tournament with a No. 2 national ranking and the No. 1 seed. The Golden Tigers are 3-1 in conference, including wins over ranked foes William Carey, Lee and SCAD Atlanta. The Golden Tigers are looking for their first conference championship title.
Auburn-Montgomery is nine-times defending SSAC champs and enters the championship ranked third in the country.
