Ivester named NGTC Vice President for Academic Affairs

CLARKESVILLE - Dr. Gail Thaxton, President of North Georgia Technical College announces that Kathie Ivester has accepted the position of Vice President for Academic Affairs.

As Dean for Academic Affairs since 2008, Ivester has been overseeing instructional programs. She has been a leader in a number of college-wide strategic initiatives such as Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACS/COC) accreditation, articulation agreements with four-year institutions, program advisory committees, and Complete College Georgia.

For several years, Ivester has been a member of the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) Georgia Occupational Award for Leadership (GOAL) and Rick Perkins Award for Excellence state planning committees. Her experience is broad but also grounded in teaching, learning, strong instructional programs, and student success.

She was a Curriculum Program Specialist for TCSG from 2007
