Mt. Vernon to host math competition

By Ken Stanford Reporter
GAINESVILLE - Mount Vernon Exploratory School will host a math tournament for three North Hall area schools Saturday from 9:00-2:00.

Three schools are expected to participate: Wauka Mountain, Mount Vernon and Chattahoochee Christian. About 130 first- through fifth-graders are expected to participate.

Organizers say students, by their grade level, will be given questions and have three chances (three questions where they can make a mistake) before they are eliminated.

After a designated number of questions, students will then be given questions from the next grade level. Questions will get increasingly more difficult until a winner is declared.
