Accident snags I-985 in Buford area

BUFORD - A multi-vehicle traffic accident on Interstate 985 in the Buford area was causing northbound delays Wednesday afternoon.

The Georgia State Patrol was working the crash that at one time had authorities from Hall and Gwinnett counties on the scene.

The wreck was first reported to emergency responders around 2:45 p.m. in the area just north of Friendship Road or exit 8. There were no initial reports of any injuries.

Troopers said early indications were that five vehicles were involved and that it could involve more than one actual accident.
